Support Young Learners. Defend Head Start.

Donald Trump is trying to kill Head Start—the vital early education program that’s lifted millions of children out of poverty for nearly 60 years.

His latest budget proposal guts all federal funding for Head Start, slamming the door on over 800,000 low-income kids who count on it for free pre-K, meals, and health care. In some states, regional offices have already been shuttered. If Congress doesn’t act fast, thousands of classrooms could close, and struggling families will be left with nowhere to turn.

These cuts are truly cruel. And they’re a direct attack on working parents, especially single mothers and families in rural and Black and Brown communities. Every child deserves a strong start, but Trump’s plan would make early learning a luxury for the rich.

We can stop this. Congress holds the power of the purse. Lawmakers must reject this “Every Child Left Behind” budget and protect Head Start from being dismantled.

We need massive public outcry to save this lifeline.
