Subpoena Kristi Noem Now — Accountability Can’t Wait

In a stunning abuse of power, Senator Alex Padilla — a sitting U.S. Senator — was detained and handcuffed during a Homeland Security press conference. This unprecedented act of intimidation raises urgent questions about the Department of Homeland Security’s conduct under Secretary Kristi Noem.

Secretary Noem has stonewalled Congress, ignored requests for transparency, and refused to appear voluntarily before the House Oversight Committee. Her silence is not just disrespectful—it’s dangerous. If public officials can harass elected leaders without consequence, what’s stopping them from targeting everyday Americans?

We cannot let this moment pass without action. Chairman James Comer has the power to issue a subpoena compelling Secretary Noem to testify. He has so far refused, but with enough public pressure, that can change. Members of Congress — including Rep. Maxwell Frost and other Democratic lawmakers — are demanding accountability. It’s time for Chairman Comer to do the same.

This is not about partisanship. It’s about the rule of law and the right of Americans to know what their government is doing. DHS’s apparent targeting of Senator Padilla is chilling, and it must be investigated under oath.

We need action now. The credibility of our democracy depends on it.

Tell Chairman Comer: Issue the subpoena. Make Kristi Noem testify. The American people deserve answers — before it’s too late.
