Stop Trump's Targeted Attacks on Student Protesters!

Trump’s sweep of arrests and illegal detention against pro-Palestinian student protesters went after Rumeysa Ozturk last week. Ozturk is a student journalist and PhD candidate who co-authored an article in favor of Palestinian rights. And that’s the reason Trump and Marco Rubio are using to revoke her visa, arrest her, illegally detain her and attempt to deport her.

Trump is using the power of the federal government to target anyone with differing political views, especially students who have exercised their First Amendment right to protest in support of the Palestinian people. Our elected leaders must stop the administration’s targeted, illegal actions against students.

At least a few students, including Columbia University’s Mahmoud Khalil, have been detained illegally and called terrorists by this administration. It’s cruel, heartbreaking, and illegal.

Rubio said he’s revoked 300 student visas and targeted others who are permanent U.S. residents, like Khalil. Besides those already detained by the administration, others are being hunted by ICE.

Congress can’t stand by and let the rule of law crumble in front of the world.
