Donald Trump just pledged to eliminate mail-in voting and ban voting machines — by executive order — before the 2026 midterms. This is a dangerous assault on American democracy, and we must stop it now.

In a Truth Social post on August 18, Trump promised to override state election laws and take direct control of how Americans vote. He’s threatening to strip away voting access from millions — especially seniors, people with disabilities, working parents, and rural voters who rely on mail-in ballots. And he made this vow just days after meeting with Vladimir Putin, who encouraged him to target vote by mail.

This isn’t just rhetoric. Trump has a history of pushing illegal power grabs, and if we stay silent, Republican officials in Congress and the states could follow his lead—or look the other way. But if we speak out now, loudly and in huge numbers, we can make sure his threat hits a wall of resistance.
