Stop Trump’s Illegal War With Iran — Congress Must Act Now

Over the weekend, the United States and Israel launched military strikes on Iran without authorization from Congress, dragging our country into a new and dangerous war. Casualties are already mounting. President Trump himself has said there will be more deaths if the assault continues.

This is unconstitutional. Only Congress has the power to declare war. Yet once again, a president has bypassed that authority and put American troops — and countless civilians — in harm’s way.

We call on Congressional leadership to immediately bring a bipartisan War Powers Resolution to the floor to block further unauthorized military action against Iran.

There is no credible public evidence that Iran was on the verge of building a nuclear weapon that justified launching a war. Rushing into another open-ended conflict in the Middle East without clear proof, without debate, and without a vote in Congress is reckless and wrong.

The American people are tired of endless wars and backroom decisions that cost lives and drain resources from our communities. We need diplomacy, accountability, and respect for the Constitution — not another regime-change disaster.
