Stop Trump From Withholding Clean-Energy Grants For Revenge

The Trump administration is punishing states that voted against Donald Trump — and using our tax dollars to do it.

His Department of Energy admitted in court that it canceled $7.6 billion in clean-energy grants for projects in states that voted for Kamala Harris in 2024. These were not political favors. They were public investments in battery plants, grid upgrades, hydrogen technology, carbon capture, jobs, and lower energy costs. Withholding the grants is clear retaliation.

Federal funding belongs to the people. It should never be used as a weapon to reward loyalty, punish dissent, or take revenge on voters who backed the “wrong” candidate.

Congress must expose who ordered these cancellations and demand that politically targeted grants be restored.

Tell Congress: “Investigate Trump’s politically motivated clean-energy cuts, restore the canceled grants, and stop federal funding from being used as partisan revenge.”

This is bigger than clean energy. If the Trump administration gets away with this, no public investment is safe.

Disaster aid. School funding. Healthcare grants. Infrastructure projects. Any president willing to abuse power this way could use federal dollars to punish communities for how they voted.

Workers could lose jobs. Communities could lose promised investments. Families could lose out on energy upgrades that make the grid stronger and more affordable — all because their state rejected Trump.

Congress cannot let this become the new normal.
