Stop Trump from Weakening Arctic Drilling Safeguards

The Trump administration is trying to make Arctic drilling even more dangerous. If the plan moves forward, it would be a gift to fossil fuel companies at the expense of everyone who depends on clean water, stable ecosystems, and a livable climate.

The rules Interior Secretary Doug Burgum wants to weaken were put in place after the Deepwater Horizon disaster showed how one failure can unleash catastrophe.

The Arctic is one of the most fragile and difficult places on Earth to drill. Freezing conditions, remote waters, sea ice, and limited emergency infrastructure make an oil spill far harder to contain and clean up.
