Stop Trump From Punishing States That Didn’t Vote for Him

Donald Trump’s administration just admitted it: Billions of dollars in clean-energy grants were canceled because of politics.

In court documents, federal officials acknowledged that hundreds of clean-energy projects were terminated based on the political identity of the states receiving the grants. These projects were supposed to help modernize the electric grid, create jobs, reduce pollution, strengthen American manufacturing, and lower energy costs for families.

Instead, Trump treated taxpayer dollars like a weapon. States that voted against him were punished. Communities lost investments they were promised. And families could be left paying higher bills because the president wanted political revenge.

Tell Congress: Investigate Trump’s politicized cancellation of clean-energy grants, restore the funding, and stop any administration from punishing states for how their people voted.

Representative Laura Friedman said it plainly: "It’s a major betrayal of our nation that will lead to higher energy prices and should be condemned by people of all political parties. It’s un-American and despicable."

She’s right. Federal funding is supposed to serve the public interest — not Donald Trump’s ego, grudges, or partisan agenda. Every community deserves a fair shot at cleaner energy, good jobs, and reliable infrastructure, no matter how that state voted in the last election.

Add your name now and demand Congress stop Trump from weaponizing federal grants against the American people.

The petition to Congress reads: "Investigate the Trump administration’s politically motivated cancellation of clean-energy grants, restore funding for projects canceled based on partisan criteria, and pass safeguards to ensure federal grants are never used to punish states or communities for how they voted."
