Stop Trump From Bullying States Over Elections

Donald Trump is trying to bully states into changing election rules for his own benefit. Congress must shut it down.

The Justice Department just sent letters to election officials in every state and D.C., warning of possible criminal charges and demanding answers within days — escalating Trump’s pressure campaign just months before the 2026 midterms.

States run elections in this country — not Donald Trump. But Trump is using federal power to scare officials, force rushed changes, and spread lies about noncitizens voting. If he gets away with it, eligible voters could be purged, election officials could be pressured into bad decisions, and the 2026 elections could be undermined before ballots are even cast.

Tell Congress: Stop Trump’s election intimidation campaign before eligible voters are wrongly purged or blocked from casting a ballot.

There is no credible evidence of widespread noncitizen voting. But Trump keeps using that lie to justify attacks on voting rights. Rushed voter-roll checks can sweep up naturalized citizens, voters of color, students, low-income voters, disabled voters, and anyone caught in a government error.

This is how democracy gets weakened: not all at once, but through threats, fear, and pressure that can strip people of their right to vote.
