The International Atomic Energy Agency just signed off on a plan allowing Japan to release more than a million tons of nuclear waste into the Pacific Ocean. The waste is left over from the 2011 disaster at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, which suffered multiple nuclear meltdowns and hydrogen explosions following a massive earthquake and tsunami. Robert Richmond, a biologist with the University of Hawaii who was commissioned to study the plan, firmly opposes it. "We are unanimous in our view that this has not been proven to be safe," Richmond said. Sign the petition urging the International Atomic Energy Agency to reverse its decision and stop polluting our oceans.
