Meta Platforms is now blocking links to ICE List, a crowdsourced website documenting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and DHS agents based on information those agents publicly shared about themselves. ICE is increasingly operating as a paramilitary force inside U.S. cities, carrying out aggressive raids with little transparency and devastating consequences. In Minneapolis, the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti during federal immigration operations have intensified national outrage and fear. Communities are demanding answers, accountability, and oversight. Meta’s response has been to shut down the ability to even share information about who is wielding this power. By blocking ICE List, Meta is not protecting privacy. It is protecting power. The site does not publish hacked or private data. It aggregates information agents made public about their identities and careers. That kind of documentation is a cornerstone of democratic accountability, especially when government agents operate with weapons, anonymity, and near-total impunity. Meta claims its action is about safety, yet the company continues to allow vast amounts of content that enable harassment, misinformation, and real-world harm. What it is silencing instead is civic speech that challenges state violence. That is not neutrality. It is a political choice. When a single corporation can decide that documenting federal law enforcement is unacceptable speech, democracy itself is at risk. We call on Mark Zuckerberg and Meta leadership to immediately reverse this ban and restore the ability to share ICE List links across all Meta platforms. Sign now. Demand transparency. Defend the right to hold violent systems accountable before more lives are lost.
