Stop Dr. Oz from Gutting Medicaid Access for Millions

Dr. Oz and the Trump administration are turning healthcare into a paperwork trap — and millions of low-income Americans could lose coverage because of it.

A new rule from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services would force many Medicaid recipients to prove they are working, volunteering, studying, or meeting other “community engagement” requirements just to keep their healthcare. The rule is being sold as accountability. In reality, it is another cruel Republican attack on Americans’ access to care.

These requirements do not make people healthier. They bury people in confusing forms, verification demands, and bureaucratic hoops — and then punish them when something goes wrong.

Tell Congress: Stop Dr. Oz and the Trump administration from using bureaucracy to kick low-income Americans off Medicaid.

This is vindictive cruelty dressed up as policy. Medicaid helps workers, caregivers, people with disabilities, parents, rural families, and people living paycheck to paycheck survive. Taking that care away will not create jobs. It will make sick people sicker, force families into crisis, and push hospitals and clinics even closer to the brink.

A missed notice, an unstable work schedule, a disability that is not properly documented, or a state system error could mean losing access to doctors, prescriptions, cancer treatment, or mental healthcare.

And the hypocrisy is staggering. While Trump and his allies pour attention into White House vanity projects, security upgrades tied to his ballroom plans, and political spectacles like a UFC cage on the South Lawn, low-income Americans are being told they must jump through more hoops to deserve basic healthcare.

Congress does not have to sit back while CMS builds a system designed to make eligible people lose coverage. Lawmakers can shut this down through oversight, funding limits, and legislation that protects Medicaid from being turned into a maze of red tape.

Add your name now and demand Congress protect Medicaid before millions are pushed off coverage.

The petition to Congress reads:

"Block Dr. Oz and the Trump administration’s Medicaid work reporting rule. Protect Medicaid access, stop using bureaucracy to strip healthcare from low-income Americans, and ensure every eligible person can get the care they need."
