Stop Blaming the LA Wildfires on Diversity Efforts

Instead of addressing the real culprit behind these catastrophic fires—climate change—they’re using diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives as a scapegoat.

Musk recently attacked California's "racial equity action plan" on social media, falsely implying that it led to ineffective firefighting efforts. Meanwhile, Megyn Kelly outrageously claimed that the Los Angeles Fire Department is prioritizing hiring “obese lesbians” over qualified candidates—a baseless and cruel lie. These attacks are not only unfounded but dangerously misleading.

The truth is, the Los Angeles Fire Department is led by Chief Kristin Crowley, an openly gay woman who has been widely praised for her leadership and expertise. Suggesting that her qualifications—or the department’s hiring practices—are to blame for the wildfires is not only wrong, but deeply disrespectful to the brave firefighters risking their lives to protect our communities.

The real culprit behind these increasingly destructive wildfires is climate change.
