Stop Amazon’s Acquisition Spree

Over the past 25 years, Amazon has acquired more than 100 other companies, including giants like Whole Foods, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Ring, Twitch and Zappos.

Sadly, it appears as if Amazon’s multi-year acquisition spree isn’t slowing down anytime soon, as the company is now trying to acquire Roomba maker iRobot and primary care company One Medical.

As the Associated Press put it, “both mergers have heightened enduring privacy concerns about how Amazon gathers data and what it does with it.”

Now, according to a new regulatory finding from the company that currently owns Roomba, the proposed acquisition by Amazon is being scrutinized by the Federal Trade Commission, which is concerned that Amazon controls too much of the “smart home” market.
