We proudly stand with the thousands of Americans who participated in the “50501” day of action — a unified and powerful nationwide protest against President Donald Trump’s assaults on democracy, civil liberties, and vulnerable communities. From state capitols to city halls, from food drives to donation campaigns, these protests made it clear: the people will not stay silent in the face of authoritarian overreach, mass deportations, and the systematic dismantling of vital government agencies like the Social Security Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs. We applaud the organizers, including grassroots movements, civil rights advocates, and everyday Americans, for showing courage and compassion. Their demands — to end the billionaire takeover of our government, to restore funding to essential programs like Medicaid and Social Security, and to stop attacks on immigrants, trans people, and students — are just and urgent. The wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the crackdown on peaceful student protestors, and threats to higher education institutions like Harvard and American University are signs of a democracy in crisis. We must not look away. We call on elected leaders, institutions, and communities across the country to join in this fight. The Constitution belongs to the people — and so does the future of this nation. To every protester who raised their voice on April 19, we say: We see you, we support you, and we stand with you.
