Stand with States Defending Disaster Relief

In another dangerous abuse of power, the Trump administration is withholding billions in emergency and homeland security funding from states unless they comply with illegal, politically motivated conditions — and now, 11 states and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear are fighting back.

The administration’s new FEMA rules would slash the time states have to spend lifesaving disaster funds and require population counts that exclude immigrants, cutting off critical support for emergency preparedness, disaster response, and counterterrorism efforts.

These changes aren’t just cruel — they’re unconstitutional. States like Oregon, Michigan, and Arizona warn that the rule could wipe out local emergency management capacity, leaving communities vulnerable when floods, wildfires, or other disasters strike.

By suing the Trump administration, these leaders are standing up for the safety of millions of Americans — refusing to let political games put lives at risk.

Add your name to stand with these states and Governor Beshear — and to demand that the federal government protect every community’s right to disaster relief, emergency readiness, and public safety, no matter where they live or who they voted for.
