Stand With Scientists Against Admin’s New Climate Report

The Trump Administration’s Department of Energy just released a report that distorts climate science and spreads dangerous misinformation — and now, the scientists whose work it misrepresents are fighting back.

The report downplays the role of fossil fuels in warming, claims greenhouse gases have a “minimal” impact on the U.S., and argues that cutting emissions is pointless. But leading climate scientists are calling it what it is: a politically motivated attack on reality.

Dr. Michael Mann says the report is “a deeply misleading antiscientific narrative.” Zeke Hausfather, whose work was cited in the report, stated that the authors “cherry‑pick data points that suit their narrative and exclude the vast majority of the scientific literature” and that the report misuses his work by taking isolated data out of context.

These individuals–and other scientists who have spoken out against the DOE’s report–have spent their careers studying the planet and the impact of climate change. Trump’s DOE would have you believe 5 climate skeptics over nearly the entire scientific community.

The report wasn’t peer reviewed. It was produced by five scientists with long records of climate denial, hand-picked by Trump’s DOE chief Chris Wright, a fossil fuel executive. It contradicts consensus findings from NASA, NOAA, the National Climate Assessment, and the broader global scientific community.

This report is a tool meant to confuse the public and justify gutting vital climate protections, including the EPA’s endangerment finding. In the words of Naomi Oreskes, a historian of science at Harvard University, ““This shows how far we have sunk. Climate denial is now the official policy of the U.S. government.”

Staying silent legitimizes the Trump Administration’s distortion of reality. Please sign the petition to denounce this report and stand with the scientists opposing it.
