SIGN NOW: Climate action = Democratic Unity

There's a lot going on in the Democratic party right now. But with the convention coming up soon, it's important to remember what unites, rather than divides us.

And there's nothing more unifying to Democrats than climate action. The Yale Program on Climate Communication found that more than a third of registered voters are "climate voters," and another 25 percent of voters prefer candidates who support climate action. Only about 15 percent of American voters support Trump's climate denying, fossil-fueled platform.

Democratic party officials are finalizing the platform this July, which will be voted on at the convention in August. If Democrats flock together on climate action, climate hawks will win up and down the ballot.

We call on the Democratic Party and the Platform Committee to support:
- More clean energy connecting to our grid, like the Democratic unity bill the Clean Energy Transmission Acceleration Act (CETA).
- Environmental justice for all, like the Democratic unity bill the McEachin Environmental Justice For All Act (EJ4All)
- An end to all fossil fuel subsidies and tax credits, like the Democratic Unity bill the End Polluter Welfare Act
- Expand the Inflation Reduction Act's investment in clean, American-made energy and electric vehicles, and decouple our clean energy progress from fossil fuel development, like the Democratic unity bill the Nonrestrictive Offshore Wind Act (NOW).
- Make the President's pause on new LNG export licenses permanent by act of Congress
- Back Democratic unity proposals like Senator Van Hollen's plan to make fossil fuel companies pay for climate damages.
- Take legislative action to stand up the dangerous and climate-denying Supreme Court by expanding the court, supporting term limits for Justices, requiring a binding code of ethical conduct, and write protections like Chevron deference and a woman's right to choose into law.

When Democrats act together on climate, we unify the party, align our values with the vision of a super-majority of American voters, and show a clear contrast with Trump and the pro-polluter MAGA movement. Adopt these Democratic unity proposals in the Party Platform, and let's save America, and the earth, together.
