38 states have Voter ID laws, with 17 states having enacted new or stricter ID laws since 2020 alone. VoteRiders’ recently released national voter ID research results - the first in nearly 20 years - show that nearly 15% of adult citizens (over 34.5 million people) either do not have a driver’s license or state ID or have one that may cause difficulties voting in states with strict photo ID laws. Most impacted are young Americans (40% of voting-age people under 30), as well as Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, and other historically underrepresented groups.

That's why the nation’s leading voter ID education and assistance nonpartisan nonprofit has launched a National Voter ID Month of Action during April in recognition of its 12-year anniversary. Our digital and on-the-ground programs reach voters with state-specific and bilingual Voter ID resources such as Voter ID Information Cards, a Voter ID Helpline and Chatbot, texts, letters, PSAs, and direct one-on-one free help to voters who need a valid ID. VoteRiders’ reach and impact are extended by our 1,500 partner organizations and 10,000+ volunteers.

We have our sights set on directly reaching ten million voters across the country this year with the voter ID information and free help they need.

We hope you'll sign and take action to ensure every eligible voter has a chance to cast their ballot in these historic elections!
