Shut Down Dilley & End Family Detention

Call on the Department of Homeland Security to shut down the Dilley Detention Center, end the detention of children and families, and halt the expansion of detention facilities. It’s time to invest in humane, community-based alternatives that keep families together and allow them to navigate the immigration process safely, responsibly, and with dignity.

The Dilley Detention Center has become one of the primary facilities holding children and families during President Trump’s second term, and the conditions inside are deeply alarming. More than 700 complaints have been filed, detailing reports of rotten food, foul-smelling water, and inadequate medical care.

Many of these children and families, like LIam Conejo Ramos, have lived in American communities for years, attending school, building friendships, and putting down roots, before being detained, often during routine immigration check-ins or while their legal cases were still pending. Now, they are separated from their homes, schools, and support systems.
