Remove Rep. Paul Gosar from his committees

President Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin III all agree that white supremacy is a dangerous domestic terrorist threat.

That’s why the revelation that Rep. Paul Gosar's (R-AZ) Digital Director, Wade Searle, is an avowed white supremacist is cause for alarm — and action.

Talking Points Memo has identified Searle as a prominent member of the “Groyper” movement and prominent follower of neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, who considers him one of his “strongest soldiers.” His online presence, known as "ChickenRight," actively promotes conspiracy theories and espouses anti-LGBTQ+, racist, and anti-Semitic views.

We can’t allow white supremacy to become business as usual. We need accountability to build the world we all want and deserve. Rep. Gosar should be removed from his committee assignments until he fires Searle and publicly denounces white supremacy.

It might seem like a long shot but here’s the thing: We know this is possible because it’s happened before. Just four years ago, the Republican Steering Committee removed then-Rep. Steve King (R-IA) from his committee assignments for endorsing white supremacy. We’d say hiring a known white supremacist is a clear endorsement of a dangerous ideology that threatens us all — and that’s why it’s time to call for Rep. Gosar to be stripped from his committees!
