Reject Republicans’ Sham Impeachment of VP Kamala Harris

Surprise, surprise: Republicans have initiated a pathetic, unjustified attempt to impeach Vice President Kamala Harris. The move came as Harris topped Donald Trump in several polls and shattered all-time fundraising records.

The impeachment resolution, introduced by Tennessee Republican Andy Ogles, alleges that Harris "has willfully and systemically refused to uphold Federal immigration laws.” It doesn’t address the fact that upholding federal immigration laws is not the Vice President’s responsibility.

If Rep. Andy Ogles’ name sounds familiar, it’s probably because he made national headlines earlier this year for saying the United States should kill all Palestinians.

Rep. Ogles is clearly a disturbed individual with a very loose grip on reality. But it’s important that we push back hard against this ridiculous, meritless attack on Vice President Harris and her commitment to the rule of law.

As Hafiz Rashid pointed out in The New Republic, “Republicans are making wild attempts to find an attack that sticks to Harris and shifts the momentum back to Trump.” We’re not going to let them get away with it.
