Reject Republicans' $1 Trillion Military Budget

Republicans in Congress are trying to hand the Pentagon more than $1 trillion while working families are being told there is no money for the programs they rely on.

The House defense funding bill would pour roughly $1.1 trillion into the military — the largest defense budget in U.S. history. At the same time, Republicans are pushing steep cuts to domestic programs that help families afford food, healthcare, education, housing, and basic stability.

And this is moving fast. Committees in both the House and Senate have already advanced versions of the defense budget, bringing Congress one step closer to locking in this massive increase unless the public speaks out now.

Tell Congress: Reject Republicans’ $1 trillion military budget and invest in working families instead.

Americans are struggling with high prices, medical bills, rent, child care, and food costs. Communities need stronger schools, disaster relief, public health funding, clean energy, and affordable housing. Instead of meeting those needs, Republican leaders are trying to send hundreds of billions more to the Pentagon with too little accountability and no serious plan to protect families from economic pain.

Congress controls federal spending. Lawmakers can reject this bloated military budget, demand real oversight, and refuse to fund record-breaking Pentagon increases while domestic programs are cut. Public pressure now can make it harder for members of Congress to rubber-stamp a budget that sacrifices working people to fund more militarism.

A budget is a statement of values. Ours should say that children deserve food, seniors deserve healthcare, students deserve opportunity, and families deserve relief from rising costs.

Add your name now and demand Congress reject Republicans’ $1 trillion military budget before more public money is diverted away from the people who need it most.

The petition to Congress reads:

"Reject Republicans’ $1 trillion military budget. Stop cutting domestic programs that help working families, and invest in healthcare, food assistance, education, housing, climate action, diplomacy, and real public safety instead."
