Protect Science-Backed Sex Education for Teens

The Trump administration is trying to replace programs proven to prevent teen pregnancy with abstinence and a marriage first ideology.

For years, federal teen pregnancy prevention programs have helped young people get factual information about contraception, safer sex, healthy relationships, and their own bodies. Since Congress began funding the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, teen pregnancy rates have fallen dramatically — but now Trump and RFK Jr. want to take us backward.

Teens need medically accurate information to prevent pregnancy and protect their health. Tell the Department of Health and Human Services to restore funding for evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs.

The Trump administration's new plan steers funding toward abstinence, marriage, fertility tracking, hormonal production, and "reproductive goals counseling" instead of proven public health programs that help teens make informed decisions.

That is dangerous. Young people need real information before they face life-changing decisions — not political messaging that leaves them unprepared.

Teen pregnancy can make it harder for young people to finish school, find stable work, and build the future they want. Every teen deserves the tools to make informed choices about their body, their health, and their future.

Sign the petition today and tell the Department of Health and Human Services that we can't go backward. Teens need comprehensive sex education, not abstinence-first politics.

The petition to the Department of Health and Human Services reads: "Restore funding for evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs. Teens need comprehensive sex education that includes factual information about contraception, safer sex, and healthy relationships so they can make informed decisions about their bodies and their futures."
