Medical Boards: Intervene Against Deadly Anti-Abortion Laws

It should be the medical profession that sets the standard of care, not Christian nationalist anti-abortion politicians. Medical boards across the country should be empowered to intervene and set their own medical standards to save the lives of their patients. Political and religious beliefs have no place in reproductive healthcare.

Georgia's abortion ban has left Amber Nicole Thurman's 6-year-old son and Candi Miller's three children without their mother.

Every death caused by an abortion ban would have been preventable if the religious beliefs of politicians and priests were kept out of reproductive healthcare.

Doctors must be free to carry out life-saving procedures, and patients must be free to seek out life-saving procedures. But as a result of intentionally vague and nuanced policy, both doctors and patients alike are forced to put their fears of prosecution above life-saving, reproductive healthcare.
