Media Must Reject Fascist Rhetoric on DC

A right-wing media host praised President Trump’s federal takeover of Washington, DC as “God’s work” — and went further, calling for entire neighborhoods to be “emptied” and “bulldozed.”

This is not just reckless commentary. It echoes the language of ethnic cleansing and fascism, framing diverse communities as “infested” and disposable. Such rhetoric dehumanizes residents and invites violence against them.
We cannot allow media outlets to normalize authoritarian fantasies of erasing whole neighborhoods. This is propaganda that threatens our democracy and the safety of real people.
