Instead of centering urgent reporting on violence and public safety, CBS’s social feeds elevated promotional content. When media outlets prioritize spectacle, personalities, or photo ops over real-time reporting on life-and-death events, they fail the public. Journalism should inform people in moments of crisis — not distract from them.
