Media: Call Out Patterns of Partisan Retribution

A Fox News host downplayed the Justice Department’s referral of Rep. Eric Swalwell by framing questions about political retribution as mere speculation. But the pattern is unmistakable: in case after case, Trump-aligned officials have pursued investigations overwhelmingly targeting Democrats — and treating legitimate concerns about abuse of power as partisan noise only obscures the truth.

When there is mounting evidence of a coordinated retribution campaign, it is the media’s responsibility to highlight it, not dismiss it. Minimizing or muddying these patterns only shields those in power from scrutiny.
