Linda McMahon is Unqualified to Serve as Education Secretary

Donald Trump's nomination of Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education raises serious concerns about her suitability for this critical role. McMahon, a former WWE executive and Trump loyalist, has very little experience in education policy or public school systems. More alarmingly, she is currently embroiled in a lawsuit alleging that she knowingly rehired an announcer accused of child abuse during her tenure at WWE.

Leading education unions and advocacy groups have voiced strong opposition to McMahon's nomination. Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association, stated, "Our students and our nation deserve so much better than Betsy DeVos 2.0." Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, warned that McMahon's nomination threatens to undermine public education and divert resources to privatized and for-profit schools.

America's students deserve a leader with a proven commitment to strengthening public education, addressing teacher shortages, improving school safety, and expanding access to quality education for all children. Linda McMahon's limited experience in education and her involvement in a lawsuit concerning child abuse allegations raise significant doubts about her ability to fulfill these responsibilities.

We call on the Senate to reject Linda McMahon's nomination as Secretary of Education. Our nation's students, teachers, and schools deserve a leader who understands the challenges they face and will work tirelessly to ensure equitable, high-quality education for all—not someone with limited qualifications and a troubling history.

Sign this petition to demand the Senate stand up for America's students by opposing Linda McMahon's confirmation. The future of public education depends on strong, capable leadership—not more political games.
