Justice Alito Must Recuse From Trump’s Election Cases

UPDATE: The New York Times reported on May 22 that a second flag associated with the "stop the steal" movement was displayed outside Justice Alito's beach vacation home last summer.

News broke recently that after the January 2021 insurrection, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito flew an upside-down “stop the steal” U.S. flag outside of his home. 

This is the clearest indication yet that Justice Alito can not be trusted to rule on cases related to Donald Trump or the 2020 presidential election.

Sign the petition demanding that Justice Alito recuse himself from all cases related to Donald Trump or the 2020 presidential election.

According to the U.S. Flag Code, “The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.” 

The Supreme Court will soon rule on Trump’s claim that he has presidential immunity from prosecution. 

“Justice Alito should recuse himself immediately from cases related to the 2020 election and the January 6th insurrection, including the question of the former President’s immunity in U.S. v Donald Trump, which the Supreme Court is currently considering,” said Senator Durbin.
