Investigate the Pentagon’s Anti-Vaccine Propaganda Campaign

According to a disturbing new investigate report just published by Reuters, the Department of Defense initiated a covert disinformation campaign in 2020 that aimed to sow doubt about the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.

The disinfo campaign targeted Filipinos and Muslims, aiming to discourage them from getting vaccinated.

"Social media posts decried the quality of face masks, test kits and the first vaccine that would become available in the Philippines – China’s Sinovac inoculation," Reuters reported.

This anti-vaccine disinformation campaign was dangerous, misguided and irresponsible. That's why we're calling on the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, led by Democratic Senator Jack Reed, to launch an immediate investgation.

Sign the petition urging the Senate Armed Services Committee to investigate the Defense Department's anti-vaccine disinformation campaign.

Here's an example of the type of fake social media posts the Defense Department helped distribute: "COVID came from China and the VACCINE also came from China, don’t trust China!"

Public health experts were shocked by the news.

“I don’t think it’s defensible," said Daniel Lucey, infectious disease specialist at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. "I’m extremely dismayed, disappointed and disillusioned to hear that the U.S. government would do that," Lucey added.
