The Justice Department promised transparency on Jeffrey Epstein. Instead, the public got blacked-out pages and more unanswered questions. If the Justice Department mishandled these records or withheld information to shield powerful people, the public deserves to know. The Government Accountability Office can make that happen. As Congress’s independent watchdog, the GAO has the authority to investigate how the DOJ handled the Epstein files — including why key details were redacted and whether the department followed proper procedures. Senators from both parties are demanding the GAO act, and it’s time for us to join them. Tell the Government Accountability Office: “Launch an immediate investigation into the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein files and ensure full transparency and accountability for the American people.” After the DOJ released heavily redacted Epstein documents, senators from both parties demanded an investigation. Senator Jeff Merkley called the situation a “horrific scandal,” warning that the Justice Department’s secrecy is undermining public trust. The American people deserve the truth about Epstein’s network and the failures that allowed his crimes to continue for years. We also deserve to know why the Justice Department keeps hiding that truth. It’s time to send a clear message to the DOJ that secrecy and stonewalling are unacceptable when justice for survivors is on the line. We need to put pressure on the GAO to make that happen. Add your name to demand the Government Accountability Office investigate the DOJ’s handling of the Epstein files and expose the truth. The petition to the Government Accountability Office reads: “Launch an immediate investigation into the Department of Justice’s handling of the Epstein files and ensure full transparency and accountability for the American people.”
