Insurrectionists Should Not be on the Ballot

States across the country have been taking the election into their own hands. After witnessing Trump’s role in January 6, several states have taken action to remove Donald Trump from the ballot.

However, the U.S. Supreme Court just rejected these attempts and restored him to ballots, noting that only Congress has the power to block someone from the ballot.

The case was decided by a court that includes three justices appointed by Trump.

Enacted in the wake of the Civil War, Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment disqualifies from public office any individual who has taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and then engages in insurrection or rebellion against the United State. This is about more than Donald Trump. It is about ensuring that all elected officials are held to this minimal standard.

Trump’s behavior is reckless and irresponsible. Insurrectionists should not be on the ballot. Sign the petition today if you agree.
