Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are spreading hateful and dangerous lies about Haitian immigrants, stoking fear and division in communities. Recently, Trump claimed that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were "eating pets," a false and inflammatory statement that was quickly debunked by local authorities. J.D. Vance has echoed these baseless accusations, fueling a xenophobic narrative that threatens the safety and well-being of immigrants. This is part of a larger pattern of racist and anti-immigrant rhetoric coming from Trump and his allies. These falsehoods are designed to incite fear, divert attention from real issues, and undermine efforts to create fair immigration policies. The recent rise in threats and hostility toward the Haitian community in Ohio is a direct result of this type of rhetoric. Thankfully, Haitian immigrants are fighting back. The Haitian Bridge Alliance just brought criminal charges targeting Trump and Vance under an obscure Ohio law which allows private citizens to "file an affidavit charging the offense committed" and direct a court to issue arrest warrants or refer the matter for investigation. Sign the petition if you agree: It’s time to hold Trump and Vance accountable for their anti-immigrant lies.
