Hold Corporations Accountable for Contaminated Water

The EPA recently detected dangerous “forever chemicals” in water systems 46 million Americans. That’s right: Roughly one in four public drinking water systems are at or above the Environmental Protection Agency’s minimum reporting levels this year in concentrations.

To make matters worse, there are no current enforceable national drinking water standards for PFAS in states that are experiencing multiple contaminants.

Americans deserve the right to clean drinking water, especially in their own homes.

“We need to hold the entities causing PFAS to enter the environment financially responsible for removing their substances from water and wastewater,” said Lyn Riggins, WSSC Water spokesperson.

Noting that WSSC Water recently filed a lawsuit against 20 companies, including 3M and Dupont, he added that “we must hold the polluters accountable.”

We agree. Our water should be clean. Sign the petition to hold corporations accountable for contaminated water.
