Help Stop the Killing of Civilians in Sudan

"If you stay home, you get killed, and if you go outside, you get killed." - A woman who was forced to flee Sudan

As inconceivable human rights atrocities are raging in Sudan, the world is silent.

Silent about the children who are becoming orphans every day. Silent about the scores of women and young girls being raped. Silent about the families being slaughtered by militias that face zero consequences.

We must act with urgency — each hour, babies are starving and parents are killed attempting to find food and shelter.

Amnesty is documenting civilian casualties and human rights violations, and working to end the deadly flow of weapons to Sudan. We need more people to stand with us — will you sign your name to support our efforts and protect civilians at risk?

The numbers behind this human tragedy bring me to tears: more than 18,000 civilians have been killed in targeted attacks and over eleven million have been forcibly displaced from their homes.

Nicholas Kristof, reporting for The New York Times from the border of Sudan, powerfully reflects on just how silent the world is in the midst of what is the largest hunger and displacement crisis in our entire world:

“It shattered me… The atrocities underway near here are an echo of the Darfur genocide of two decades ago, with the additional complication of famine. But there’s a crucial difference: At that time, world leaders, celebrities, and university students vigorously protested the slaughter and joined forces to save hundreds of thousands of lives. Today, in contrast, the world is distracted and silent. So the impunity is allowing violence to go unchecked, which, in turn, is producing what may become the worst famine in half a century or more.”

We cannot sit idle as boys and girls… children and families… suffer through this living nightmare.

Amnesty is meticulously documenting violations and war crimes, sharing first-hand accounts of witnesses, and pressuring world leaders to enforce the arms embargo. And right now, we need you with us.

We must act fast, before more lives are lost to violence and starvation.

Your signature gives voice to our demands for an end to the deadly flow of weapons and the violent atrocities, and helps to save lives in Sudan and around the world.

Thank you for showing up whenever and wherever human rights are under threat,
