EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is pushing forward with his agenda, now proposing a dangerous plan to weaken chemical safety reviews under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), all to “increase efficiency." The risk: more toxic chemicals, less oversight. Originally passed in 1976, TSCA is a bedrock law that protects people from harmful chemicals. Strengthened in 2016 the law ensures that EPA consider all chemical uses and their risks to human health, including uses in household products and children’s toys as well as air pollution and water contamination. Now Trump’s EPA wants to weaken regulations for the chemical industry which would allow unregulated and unrestricted chemicals back into consumer and commercial products. We can’t let that happen. Send a message to EPA: Hands off our chemical safety laws.
