Despite the fact that we've known for 40 years that vinyl chloride—the toxic chemical used to make PVC (polyvinyl chloride) plastic and vinyl—causes cancer in humans, it's still widely used today. In December of 2023, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finally began the in-depth, multi-year process required to limit or ban vinyl chloride under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Vinyl chloride is one of the most studied chemicals used in commerce, and it is long past time that the EPA conduct a thorough review and risk evaluation through the TSCA process: a review that should end in a ban. We need your help to let the EPA know you support banning vinyl chloride. Please fill out this form to submit a public comment to the EPA before the Weds, October 23, 2024 deadline. Please note that your message will be delivered to a public agency and all information you submit will become part of the public record. Please do not submit any confidential information.
