Enough is Enough: Impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem

Kristi Noem lied to the American people about the killing of Alex Pretti — and she's not going to get away with it. After a Border Patrol agent shot and killed the 37-year-old ICU nurse in Minneapolis on the morning of January 24, Noem’s Department of Homeland Security rushed out a false narrative claiming Pretti posed a threat. That claim collapsed almost immediately.

Video and eyewitness accounts show something very different: a man trying to help another civilian before being shot multiple times. Instead of correcting the record, Noem doubled down. She chose lies over truth, cover-up over accountability, and political damage control over a grieving family’s right to honesty.

Now Congress is being forced to confront Noem's lawlessness and lies. Lawmakers are no longer quietly raising concerns — they are publicly calling for her resignation or impeachment. Members of the House Homeland Security Committee and a growing number of Democratic representatives say Noem has abused her office by misleading the public, obstructing oversight, and presiding over deadly enforcement actions without accountability.

Impeachment exists for moments exactly like this. When a cabinet secretary lies about a civilian’s death and blocks accountability, Congress has a duty to act.
