Don’t Sentence Millions to Death. Save AIDS Relief.

President Trump is trying to finish what Congress wouldn’t: dismantle the world’s most effective global AIDS program—and millions of lives are at risk.

Just weeks ago, PEPFAR, a program which has saved 25 million lives in 50 countries, narrowly escaped major cuts in the latest congressional budget deal. But now, the Trump administration is working behind closed doors to kill the program anyway. They’re putting lifesaving HIV treatment out of reach for millions of people around the world.

Tell Trump: “Don’t sentence millions of people to death from HIV. Americans demand that you save PEPFAR and global AIDS relief funding.”

PEPFAR is a cornerstone of global health and a symbol of U.S. leadership. But if Trump’s plan succeeds, clinics will close, medicine supplies will vanish, and entire communities—especially in low-income nations—will be left defenseless.

According to the New York Times and NPR, the damage could begin within days. Doctors Without Borders warns the collapse of PEPFAR would be catastrophic.

Public outcry, from both sides of the aisle, helped save PEPFAR funding from being slashed in Congress. The Trump administration withdrew cuts to PEPFAR from Trump’s rescission package when we spoke out.

But now, Trump is hoping that we won’t notice he’s working to slash the program anyway, behind closed doors. That’s why it’s critical that we keep the pressure on now and spread the word about Trump’s efforts with petitions like this one.

There’s no time to lose. Add your name now to stop cuts to global AIDS relief and save lives.

The petition to Trump reads: “Don’t sentence millions of people to death from HIV. Americans demand that you save PEPFAR and global AIDS relief funding.”
