Don’t Pass the GOP Tax Proposal

House Republicans are pushing a disastrous tax proposal that would slash essential services for working families while handing billions in tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy. Their budget plan would gut Medicaid, take food assistance away from struggling families, and decimate programs millions of Americans rely on—all to fund giveaways to billionaires and big corporations. The top 5% of the income distribution gets 49% of the benefits from this tax proposal.

Republicans are bending over backward to funnel more money into the pockets of their wealthy donors. Their plan would add trillions to the deficit while making it even harder for everyday Americans to access healthcare, afford groceries, or retire with dignity. It’s cruel and depraved.

Even some Republicans can’t agree on how to pay for these reckless tax cuts, with proposals on the table that could rip apart Medicare, education funding, and social programs that support veterans and low-income families. Meanwhile, the richest Americans and massive corporations—many of which already pay little to no taxes—would walk away with even more handouts.

The American people overwhelmingly oppose cutting essential programs to fund tax breaks for the rich. Congress should be focused on making billionaires and large corporations pay their fair share, not slashing benefits for seniors, children, and people with disabilities.

Tell Congress: Reject the GOP tax proposal. The rich don’t need another break—working families need relief.
