Denounce Trump's Cruel New Anti-Immigrant Green Card Policy

Donald Trump just made the legal immigration process crueler, slower, and more dangerous for families who are already playing by the rules.

His administration announced that many people already living in the United States may now have to leave the country and apply for green cards from abroad — unless they can prove “extraordinary circumstances.” That could separate spouses, parents, workers, students, refugees, and longtime community members from the lives they have built here.

For decades, eligible immigrants have been able to apply for permanent residence from inside the United States. Trump’s new policy turns that process into a threat: leave your job, your family, your home, and possibly your safety — or risk being denied.
