Denounce Senate GOP for Confirming Todd Blanche as AG

Senate Republicans just confirmed Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer as attorney general — putting a Trump loyalist in charge of the Department of Justice.

Todd Blanche was confirmed in a narrow 50-49 vote after every Senate Democrat opposed him and only two Republicans, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, voted no.

Blanche’s confirmation comes after serious concerns about DOJ independence, a proposed $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund, tax immunity tied to Trump and his family, and the politicization of federal law enforcement.

Senate Republicans had the power to stop this nomination. Instead, they handed Trump a justice system led by the very lawyer who helped defend him.
