Defense Secretary Hegseth Must Resign Now

Pete Hegseth has shown he is unfit to serve as Secretary of Defense—and the nationwide calls for his resignation are growing louder by the day.

New reporting reveals that Hegseth participated in a private Signal group chat in which National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and others discussed classified military plans and advocated for unauthorized military action. The chat, which was accidentally shared with a journalist, represents a stunning breach of protocol and a threat to national security.

As Secretary of Defense, Hegseth had a duty to immediately shut down the conversation and report any potential violations. Instead, he remained silent—and may have encouraged it.

This is not just a lapse in judgment. It is a failure of leadership and a violation of the public trust. Hegseth has proven he cannot be trusted with the immense responsibility of overseeing the U.S. military.

A growing number of public figures are demanding his resignation. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has called for his immediate dismissal, warning that Hegseth “risked American lives and likely violated the law.” Senator Mark Kelly and Representative Ruben Gallego, both military veterans, have also said Hegseth should step down. Even the Star Tribune, Hegseth’s hometown newspaper, has called for his resignation.

This is not a partisan issue. It’s a matter of national security.

Add your name now to join the growing chorus demanding that Pete Hegseth resign immediately as Secretary of Defense.
