Defend the Endangered Species Act

Imagine being the last generation to see a polar bear power through ice, a giant manta ray gliding over a coral reef, or sea turtle hatchlings storm the surf break. It's hard to fathom. But right now, there's a bill in Congress that — unless stopped — would make sweeping changes to the very law intended to keep that from happening.

Since 1973, the Endangered Species Act (ESA) has helped keep over 1,600 species of plants and animals from going extinct. It is a fundamental protection for our natural world. The ESA Amendments Act of 2025, however, would gut this landmark law. That's why we need your voice now.  

If passed, this bill would weaken protections for thousands of animals like Chinook salmon, blue whales, and sharks, putting economic considerations over the wellbeing of wildlife. It would sacrifice at-risk and vulnerable animals while undermining longstanding safeguards they rely upon. All these changes would put iconic species at risk of disappearing off our coasts and out of our oceans. Tell your Representatives to say NO to this detrimental bill.
