Defend Ilhan Omar from Trump's authoritarian attacks!

Trump took his attacks on political opponents to a new level yesterday when his Department of Justice (DOJ) raided Rep. Ilhan Omar's home as part of a baseless investigation into the Congresswoman.

Trump called Rep. Omar a "terrible" and "totally crooked" person. He said, "She comes in from a country without laws, without police, without military, where all they do is shoot each other, and she comes into our country" as the crowd at his event chanted "deport."

Rep. Omar has been a focus of Trump's racist, anti-immigrant hate for years. The DOJ has ramped up its political prosecutions, sending ICE protesters to prison for decades, and going after other high-profile figures like New York Attorney General Letitia James. Congress must put an end to Trump's blatant abuses of power.

In response to the DOJ raid, Rep. Omar said, "Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns."

The Trump administration is using NSPM-7 to push ahead its persecution of protesters and opponents. NSPM-7 is an overly broad national security memo that dramatically expands the definition of "domestic terrorist" to potentially include anyone holding views that differ from Trump's extreme far-right agenda. This is a government-wide effort to silence and punish protest and dissent.

A former FBI official filed an official whistleblower report chronicling the agency's unconstitutional investigations into protesters. The FBI pulled agents off of active cartel cases to probe ICE protesters.

Congress must stop Trump's MAGA administration from going after Omar, protesters, and anyone standing against Trump.
