Congress Must Investigate Supreme Court Ethics

The Supreme Court is supposed to uphold the highest standards of fairness and impartiality. But as The New Republic reports, growing concerns over Justice Samuel Alito’s refusal to recuse himself from a major fossil fuel case are once again raising alarm about ethics and conflicts of interest at the nation’s highest court.

Americans are increasingly losing confidence in a system where Supreme Court justices can accept lavish gifts, maintain close relationships with wealthy interests, and still rule on cases involving those same networks and industries with little oversight or accountability.
