Congress Must Investigate Potential War Profiteering

Americans deserve a government that serves the public — not one where political power can be used for private gain. But as reporting from PBS NewsHour highlights, a company backed by President Trump’s sons is pursuing defense contracts with Gulf nations that are currently under attack — in a conflict shaped by U.S. policy decisions.

Ethics experts warn that this situation raises serious conflict-of-interest concerns. When those connected to political leadership stand to benefit financially from war or foreign policy decisions, it undermines public trust and raises the risk that policy is being shaped by profit rather than the national interest.

Government decisions, especially those involving military action, must never be influenced by personal financial gain. The stakes are too high, both for American lives and for global stability.

Congress has a constitutional responsibility to provide oversight. Lawmakers must investigate whether any conflicts of interest exist, determine whether ethics laws have been violated, and ensure that public office is never used for private enrichment.

Add your name to demand Congress investigate potential corruption and protect the integrity of our government.

Accountability is the foundation of democracy. By insisting on transparency and oversight, we can help ensure that decisions about war, security, and foreign policy are made in the public interest — not for profit.
