Members of Congress are supposed to protect the public from powerful industries — not profit from them. A new analysis found that at least 105 members of Congress have household investments in AI companies or the infrastructure behind them, worth tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars. Even worse, dozens of those lawmakers sit on committees with power over AI safety, consumer protections, semiconductor policy, trade, energy, and other issues that could directly affect those investments. That is exactly why congressional stock trading must end. Artificial intelligence is already reshaping our society and economy. The people writing the rules should be focused on protecting the public, not watching their portfolios rise and fall with every hearing, bill, subsidy, loophole, or delay. Add your name and tell Congress: Ban congressional stock trading now. The petition to Congress reads: "Pass a full ban on congressional stock trading. Members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children should not be allowed to buy, sell, or hold individual stocks while lawmakers are writing the rules that shape our economy."
