Families can’t afford a double hit to their healthcare. First, Republicans slashed Medicaid funding, endangering seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families. Now, Affordable Care Act premium tax credits are set to expire, which could send monthly premiums skyrocketing in 2026. Without these credits, more than 21 million Americans risk losing affordable coverage. Premiums could double, small businesses may be forced to drop insurance, and the uninsured rate will surge. Senator Chuck Schumer has introduced legislation to both reverse the Medicaid cuts and extend ACA tax credits. Even some Republican leaders admit they’re open to it. But unless Congress feels overwhelming public pressure, obstruction will win out, and families will pay the price. That’s why we’re calling on Congress to extend the ACA premium tax credits now. Public pressure works. When millions of us raise our voices, lawmakers have no choice but to act. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Congress must protect it — before it’s too late.
